Landing Page Audits

Find out why visitors reach your page and leave without calling.

Overview

A landing page has one job, and once someone looks closely it's usually clear why it isn't doing it. The headline doesn't match the ad. Four buttons ask for four different things. The form wants nine fields when three would do. On a phone, the number is hard to find and harder to tap.

I review the page against Unbounce's 49-point landing page checklist, grouped into eight areas: messaging, design, calls to action, trust, forms, media, conversion strategy and testing. Every item is marked pass, fail or not applicable, and every fail gets a specific fix. You get a PDF report with a score for each area and a short fix list in priority order. If the page needs rebuilding rather than fixing, I can do that through Webflow development.

Who it's for

For anyone paying to send traffic to a page, or relying on one page to turn visits into leads.

  • You're running Google Ads and the cost of each lead keeps climbing.
  • The page gets visits but very few form fills or calls.
  • Your designer and your marketer disagree about what the page needs.
  • You're launching a campaign and want the page checked before you spend on it.
  • Your homepage is doing a landing page's job and trying to say everything at once.
What you get
  • A review of one page against 49 checkpoints in eight categories
  • A pass, fail or not applicable call on every item, with a note on each fail
  • A score for each category and an overall grade
  • A fix list in priority order, starting with the changes most likely to affect leads
  • A test of the form, calls to action and phone link on mobile
  • Test ideas for the items that need your ad or analytics data
  • A PDF report you can pass to your designer or developer
How it works
  1. Brief. You send the page, where its traffic comes from and what counts as a lead.
  2. Review. I go through the page on desktop and on a phone, checkpoint by checkpoint, and submit the form to make sure the lead arrives.
  3. Score. Each checkpoint is marked, each category scored, and every fail gets a written fix.
  4. Hand over. You get the PDF and the ranked fix list, and we go through the top items together.

FAQ

Common questions

What does the 49-point checklist cover?

Eight areas: messaging and copy, design and layout, calls to action, trust and social proof, forms, media, conversion strategy, and testing. The checkpoints run from whether the headline explains the page in a few seconds to whether the form asks for more than it needs. Items that need internal data, like A/B test history or Google Ads Quality Score, are left out of the score and listed as recommendations.

Will you fix the page as well?

The audit is the diagnosis, written so your designer or developer can act on it straight away. If the page is on Webflow or WordPress and you'd rather I made the changes, I can quote that as a separate piece of work. If it needs a rebuild more than a fix, a new local business website may be the better route.

Will a better landing page lower my Google Ads costs?

It can help. Google Ads rates each keyword's Quality Score partly on landing page experience, which Google describes as how relevant and useful your page is to people who click your ad. The more reliable gain is simpler, though. If more of the visitors you already pay for become leads, each lead costs less.
