I'm Brodie Mei.
I work on search, build websites and tools, and photograph the places I travel. It's one habit used three ways: paying attention to what people look at, and what they look for.

I help businesses get found. I've worked in search and content for more than 12 years, mostly with B2B software companies, where buyers do their research in Google and ChatGPT long before they talk to sales. I also work with local service businesses in Ontario, where the question is simpler: does the site show up in the towns you serve?
I build, too. I plan and write websites for local businesses, handle the SEO around launches and migrations, and build my own tools when the same job comes up every week: a map-pack rank tracker, a content scorer, a QA suite for Webflow staging sites and a library of Claude skills for SEO work.
And I take photographs, mostly when I travel. A castle on a Slovak hilltop, a cliff town in Italy at dusk, desert light in Arizona, herons and hawks, and dogs at full speed.
Why put it all on one site? Because it's the same skill. A photograph works when you notice what people will look at. A search strategy works when you notice what people look for. This site holds both, and the things I've built in between.
Three threads, one habit.
Search & AI search
SEO and content strategy for B2B software companies, local SEO for service businesses, and getting cited when buyers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews.
Websites & tools
Websites for local businesses, from the site plan to the SEO at launch. Plus the tools I've built for work that repeats: rank tracking, content scoring, QA and automation.
Photography & travel
Travel, wildlife, landscape and architecture, plus people and dogs. Browse by category, or trip by trip from Poland and Slovakia to Arizona.
Five rules I work by.
Numbers over adjectives
If I can't count it, date it or link to it, I don't claim it. That goes for client reports and for this site.
Strategy and execution from one place
The person who writes the plan also writes the briefs, builds the pages and checks the redirects. Less gets lost between a deck and a hand-off.
Measure what moved
Every piece of work ends with what changed, what didn't and what comes next, from Search Console and ranking data rather than a feeling.
Build tools for repeated work
When the same task comes up every week, I'd rather build a tool, check its work and spend the time I save on thinking.
Honest about what I can't promise
Nobody can guarantee a ranking or a citation in an AI answer. I'll tell you which bets are quick, which are slow and which I'd skip.
What I'm working on now.
A snapshot of the month, not a résumé. I update it when things change.
This site. I'm rebuilding brodiemei.com on Webflow so the search work, client websites, tools and photographs live in one place.
The Map Pack Scanner. A nightly routine now picks one improvement, builds it and ships it, and waits for any running scan to finish first.
AWPM Group's umbrella site, live on awpm.ca since September. I audited it after launch and fixed the launch defects the same day.
A website for Fortress Commercial Pools, a new commercial pool service company in Kitchener-Waterloo: seven pages, each built around a search its buyers make.
A 12-post blog calendar for Kitchen & Bath World, with a new post every four days until early November.
Photos from two weeks in Poland, Slovakia and Budapest in August 2026. The first one is up on the trip page.
Let's talk.
